As far as I recall it has to be removed to a point to get to the bulb.And to get it out. Try taking out the right or left faring pocket ? (if it has one)

Looks kinda complicated, I have a new one to put in, but i just cant seem to find a place to get started.

It is not complicated at all, just look under the hood behind the headlight, there should be some screws and just think: if it was me how would I put the lights unit together and %26quot;BINGO%26quot; there it is and there is there!! Good luck.

I think on that model you take the whole grille out. It has only a couple of screws, and a bunch of grip-type clips as well as bulb sockets to disconnect. It really is simple setup.

I wanted to changed my headlights to white lights in my 2000 Subaru Impreza RS but i don't know how. I unplug the power to the bulb but cant get the bulb itself out of the light mount. I can touch the three prongs where you plug the power into but it won't budge. Do i have to take the whole light housing out? Give me instructions please-

The rubber thing is covering the clips. Pull the rubber off and you'll find the clips under it.

Look for a retainer spring just below where the power connector is located. If you can remove the retainer spring, the bulb holder will be easy to remove.

Can't believe changing a headlight (2005 Acura RSX) is this hard, but....?

Every book at AutoZone/Wal Mart that I've looked at has given me part numbers to L shaped headlights. meaning, the bulb points up and the prongs point to the side.



When I pulled the old bulb out, the bulb points up and the prongs point down.





the prongs are the same, and it appears like the L shaped bulb would somewhat fit, but I figured I'd ask around before opening the new bulb and trying it.





If anybody can lend some advice I'd appreciate it.

And if I need to answer any questions, I'll be glad to if it will help get me answers

Vehicle has two bulbs, high beam (9005) and low beam (H1). The H1 is straight with a metal tab for the connection, the 9005 is L shaped and the connector is plastic.

I also checked with an Acura OEM replacement website and it shows the L shaped 9005 bulb as factory. Someone may have put a 9005XS bulb in it's place either because they bought the wrong bulb, or wanted to be different. Here is a link to the headlamp assembly:

A 9005 bulb is the regular style with the L bend connector, a 9005XS is in-line. Just ask the guy at the parts store counter for a straight 9005 and if s/he is remotely competent they will set up up with the right stuff.

There is a steel plate behind the headlight assembly which makes it virtually impossible to access the twist thingy that holds the halogen headlamp. What am I missing?

you may find either a piece of plastic or metal that will slide up and allow you to move the headlamp assembly forward and out so that you can get access to the bulb.

I may be wrong, but there should be 2- 7mm headed bolts sticking up that you remove. They kinda look like maybe they are to adjust it, but look close and you'll see the adjustment bolt 'way further down. Pulling the 2 bolts lets the whole %26quot;bucket' come out

Im not sure what the headlight looks like from the view under the hood, but in my 03 tahoe, you have to move one prong to the left and one prong to the right then the bulb can be removed.
