How do you change the headlight on a 2007 Kia Rio?

I went to change the headlight on my car. I opened the cover and pushed on the wire as told in the manual. How do you get the light loose so that the bulb can be changed. The wire is stopping me from getting it out!

Turn the wire house anticlockwise, it will release and you can see the bulb. No need to open the wire, unless you want to change the wire or add extra power to the headlight.

Does anybody know how to change a headlight on a Chevy cavalier 2000?

We removed the platic covering and two screws that looked like it would release the headlight but it it is still connected somehow. There does not look like there is anything else to unscrew or unhook.

I LOOKED IN MY CRASH MANUEL AND IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A SEPARATE SIDE MARKER LAMP.REMOVE IT AND YOU MAY FIND ANOTHER BOLT BEHIND IT THAT HOLDS THE HEAD-LITE IN. IF THAT'S NOT THE CASE SOME HL ASSEMBLIES HAVE A SNAP FASTENER ON THE BACK SIDE THAT CAN BE RELEASED BY JUST PULLING OR PRYING FORWARD.. ALTHOUGH THE BOOK DIDN'T SHOW THIS TO BE THE CASE.

I have 2000 Buick Century and I had put a brand new headlight assembly on the Right side. I installed all new lights, but the two %26quot;headlights%26quot; are very dim. The side maker, parking, and turn signal all are normal and bright, any info would be great.

Either the contacts in the bulb socket are corroded, the bulb is not seated in the socket all the way, or there's a bad ground connection on that side. The light can ground directly to the car body (inner fender well if need be-just drill a hole and chuck a sheet metal screw in it and attach the socket ground wire to it.).

check your connectors for the headlights for corrosion or bent connectors and check the ground
is it dim from driving view or looking directly at h/light? if its dim from driving view you might wanna get them leveled/ aligned

There are two bolts, 10mm each. Take off these and pull the light straight off. Just plug everything back in when you get your new light. If it is an HID Halo type light, you will need to do some wiring.

Turn the big plastic nut on the back of your headlamp and pull it out.... 9007 bulb for replacement and DO NOT touch the bulb glass with your fingers....reverse for installation or take it to the parts store and have them show you how its done

Its not hard to change but it can still be done wrong. the newer bulbs cannot be touched with bare hands-- they can burn out as soon as you turn them on for the first time.

So its cheaper to get an experienced person to do it.

This headlight has a small removeable %26quot;globe inside%26quot;,--- it plugs in from back! Get right # repalcement bulb, and do the following



Open hood, look behind headlight, there shoud be a big ring (about 1 1/2' dia) with serrations on it, turn it clockwise (from rear), it should %26quot;screw off%26quot;, pull back on base of socket (which has 3 wires coming out), - must be disconenected to get g bulb off!--- pull bulb from housing, remove new one from paper carton, -(avoid making fingerprints on it - (will make it burn out sooner)-- clean well with soft cloth or something to get all dirt or smudges off, - rotate to fit-- note has 3 little strips that line up with 3 little groves in headlight base!-- Insert %26quot;secrew on ring%26quot; (and %26quot;O%26quot; ring if it has one-- just as disassembled)!! plug in plug on back of bulb., and you are done! (the %26quot;O%26quot; ring is to keep dirt and moisture out)!



This is a very simple job doesn't take long, -- all you have to do is watch very carefully how it came apart and re-assemble parts on new bulb just the same!-- Maybe take 15 minutes if you really check it over very caredfully,- 5 if you have ever done anything like this before!

You are on the right track. You remove the bulb from inside by twisting the mount. Just follow the wires to the bulb. Be careful not to touch the glass of the new bulb since oils on your hand can cause it to explode; they get that hot.
