I changed my headlight recently on my 1999 pontiac grand prix and noticed a white Chalk/wax like U shaped thing with 2 wires in it under the headlight assembly and tried to follow the wires but made it up to a wiring harness and then lost them what in the world is this thing for

It way be the sensor for your airbags. I think they usually have blue wire connectors on them.
