How do you change a headlight bulb in a 98 Ford Taurus?

I only need to change the light bulb, not the whole headlight assembly.

You have to remove the entire headlight housing to access the bulb. There is one retaining screw and two retaining pins. Remove the screw, then take the pins out (just pull straight up hard.) The bulb then simply twists out of the back of the housing.

Check out repair websites and see if it's possible. Some cars unfortunately HAVE to have a whole new assembly installed instead of changing a simple bulb.
be sur to reajust you light after you do take it out
its a tight fit but you can get your hand in there to cahge the bulb. you have to do it blind...not being able to seeit while your changin it. you have to lossen the clamp bracket, and then twist the plug 1/4 turn and then slide out. it will take abou 15 minutes
